The Motobatt Quadflex MBTX7U is a sealed 12V AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) powersports battery built for motorcycles, ATVs and small-engine machines that need strong, repeatable starting power. It arrives factory activated — pre-conditioned and fully charged — so there is no acid filling, no initial charging and no fluid top-ups.
Inside, each plate is wrapped in fibrous glass matting that absorbs the electrolyte and cushions the plates against vibration, a common cause of internal shorts and broken plate welds in conventional flooded batteries. AGM construction also brings a lower self-discharge rate and better tolerance of deeper discharge and recovery under alternator or maintenance charging.
The patented Quadflex four-terminal layout (two positive, two negative) suits a wide range of fitments and makes connecting accessories straightforward. As a fully sealed, non-spill design it can be mounted in any position and shipped by courier.

- No activation or initial charge is required — the battery is factory activated and ships fully charged, so it can be installed straight from the box.
- Check the terminal layout against your bike's leads before fitting; the Quadflex design gives two positive and two negative posts, so choose the pair that best suits your cable routing.
- Use the supplied M5 hardware and the included Allen wrench. Tighten terminal screws firmly but do not overtighten, as the threads are in the lead terminals.
- Fit the supplied terminal caps over any unused posts to prevent accidental shorting against the frame or seat pan.
- Disconnect the negative lead first when removing the battery and reconnect it last when fitting, to reduce the risk of shorting a spanner to earth.
- Do not attempt to open the battery, remove the sealed caps or add acid or water — it is a sealed maintenance-free AGM unit.
- Charge only with a charger or maintainer that has an AGM setting. Avoid high-current or unregulated automotive chargers, which can damage sealed AGM cells.
- If the bike is stored or ridden infrequently, keep the battery on a suitable AGM maintenance charger or top it up periodically; AGM self-discharges slowly but will still flatten over long periods.
- Store the battery in a cool, dry place, upright and away from direct heat sources, and keep the terminals clean and dry.
- Wipe the case with a dry or lightly damp cloth only; avoid solvents and do not hose the battery or its terminals.
- Recycle the battery through an approved lead-acid battery collection point at end of life — do not place it in general waste.
