The Motobatt MBTX12U is a sealed 12V AGM battery built for motorcycles, ATVs and other small-engine powersports machines that are started often and ridden hard. Absorbed Glass Mat construction wraps every plate in fibrous glass matting, which holds the electrolyte in place and cushions the plates against the vibration that breaks down conventional flooded batteries.
It arrives factory activated — pre-conditioned, fully charged and ready to install straight from the box, with no acid to handle, no initial charging and no fluid levels to top up. Because there is no free liquid acid, the battery is non-spill and can be mounted or transported in any position.
The patented QuadFlex layout gives you four terminals (two positive, two negative) plus bottom spacers, so one battery covers a wider range of fitments and leaves spare terminals free for accessories such as heated gear, charging leads or auxiliary lighting.

- No initial charging or acid filling is required — the battery is factory activated and ready to install directly from the box.
- Check the battery tray height before fitting and use the supplied 5mm or 10mm bottom spacers to raise the battery so the terminals sit at the correct height for your hold-down and cables.
- Choose the pair of QuadFlex posts (from the two positive and two negative terminals) that best suits your cable routing; the remaining posts can be used for accessory connections.
- Fit the supplied M6 screws with the included Allen wrench and tighten firmly by hand only — over-torquing can damage the terminal inserts.
- Disconnect the negative lead first when removing a battery and reconnect it last when installing, and keep tools clear of both terminals at once.
- Fit the supplied terminal caps over any unused or live posts to prevent accidental shorting.
- Use a charger with an AGM or sealed lead-acid setting; do not use a high-output automotive fast charger, which can overcharge and damage a sealed AGM battery.
- If the bike is stored or ridden only occasionally, keep the battery on a suitable AGM-compatible maintenance charger, or top it up periodically, rather than letting it sit flat.
- Store the battery in a cool, dry place and away from direct heat sources; store it charged rather than discharged.
- Wipe the case and terminals clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth; there is no need to top up fluid and no acid gassing to clean off.
- Do not attempt to open, drill or remove the sealed top of the battery — doing so will ruin the AGM construction and void its serviceability.
