The Maxxis MU521 is a 27x11-12 utility ATV tyre with a 6-ply rating and an 85J load and speed marking. It is the rear-fitment partner to the MU511 front tyre, and the two are commonly sold and fitted as a matched set on utility and work quads.
Suited to riders replacing worn original-equipment rubber on utility ATVs running the 12-inch rear rim size, this tyre carries part number T68-1227-11 and is sold as a single tyre. Check your machine's rim width and placard tyre sizing before ordering.

- Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified tyre technician using proper ATV tyre-changing equipment — never attempt to seat a bead with an open flame or ether.
- Set and check inflation pressure to the figure on your ATV's manufacturer placard or owner's manual, and always measure when the tyres are cold.
- Never exceed the maximum pressure moulded into the tyre sidewall, including during bead seating.
- Keep front and rear pressures matched side to side; uneven pressures cause pulling, uneven wear and can strain the driveline on solid-axle machines.
- Inspect before each ride for cuts, punctures, embedded stones, sidewall bulges and exposed cord, and replace the tyre if any are found.
- Replace the tyre once the tread is worn to the wear limit, and where practical replace tyres in pairs across an axle so rolling diameters stay matched.
- Fit the correct front and rear pattern to each end — the MU521 is the rear-fitment tyre and pairs with the MU511 at the front.
- Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from electric motors, solvents, fuels and oils, which degrade rubber.
- After riding in mud or sand, rinse with water and a mild detergent so grit does not pack into the tread or corrode the rim.
- Re-check pressures after the first ride following fitment, and periodically thereafter, as new tyres can settle on the bead.
