A replacement peak side screw cover set for the LS2 MX701 Explorer Carbon helmet, finished in matt black to suit the helmet's standard trim. Peak hardware is one of the first things to go missing after a drop, a trailside knock or repeated peak adjustment, and this kit puts the helmet back to original condition.

Supplied as replacement peak screws and covers, it suits MX701 Carbon owners who want to refit or realign the peak, replace lost or damaged hardware, or simply keep a spare set in the toolbox. Intended for the LS2 MX701 Explorer Carbon — check compatibility before ordering if your helmet is a different model or shell.

  • Fit the peak with the screws finger-tight first, check the peak sits square and centred, then tighten evenly on both sides.
  • Do not overtighten — the screws thread into the helmet shell fittings and excess force can strip or damage them.
  • Press the covers on until they seat flush; a proud cover usually means the screw underneath is not fully home.
  • Re-check the peak screws before and after off-road rides, as vibration and airflow can gradually loosen them.
  • Wipe the covers with a soft damp cloth and mild soapy water only; avoid solvents, petrol-based cleaners and abrasive pads, which will mark the matt finish.
  • Remove the peak before washing or storing the helmet in a tight bag to avoid levering the screws sideways.
  • Replace any screw or cover that is cross-threaded, cracked or no longer holds firmly rather than reusing it.
  • Keep spare hardware in your tool kit if you ride remote — a lost peak screw can end a ride with the peak flapping or missing.
