The Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Chain 1415 is a heavy-duty chain-and-lock package built for securing motorcycles, scooters and other high-value machines. It pairs a 14mm chain with a 150cm working length and a Kryptonite New York Disc Lock, so you can lock the bike to a ground anchor, post or another immovable object rather than relying on a disc lock alone.

The 150cm length gives enough reach to pass through the rear wheel and frame and still capture a fixed anchor point, which makes it well suited to garage, carport and long-stay parking. It is a deliberately substantial piece of equipment — best kept as home or destination security rather than something carried on the bike day to day.

  • Lock the chain through the rear wheel and frame and around a fixed, immovable object such as a ground anchor or post.
  • Keep the chain and lock body clear of the ground where possible — a lock resting on concrete is easier to attack and picks up grit.
  • Avoid letting the chain swing against paintwork, wheels or exhaust; run it through a soft cover or cloth if contact is likely.
  • Dry the chain and lock after rain or washing, and wipe away road salt and grit before storage.
  • Lubricate the keyway and shackle periodically with a light lock lubricant; do not use heavy grease, which traps dust.
  • Keep the keyway pointing down or sideways when locked so water and debris do not settle inside the cylinder.
  • Store the spare key somewhere separate from the bike, and never leave a key with the parked machine.
  • Check the shackle seats and locks fully every time — if the mechanism becomes stiff or gritty, service or replace the lock rather than forcing it.
