  • Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water using a soft cloth; avoid petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or aerosol sprays, which can damage the shell finish and foam liner.
  • If the inner liner or cheek pads are removable, hand wash in cool water with mild detergent and allow to air dry completely before reassembly; do not tumble dry or use direct heat.
  • Wipe a fixed inner liner gently with a lightly dampened cloth; allow to dry fully before wearing.
  • Clean any visor or face shield with mild soap and water; never wipe a dry visor as this scratches the surface and reduces visibility.
  • Store the helmet in its bag (if supplied) or a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight, UV exposure and fuel or chemical vapours, which degrade EPS foam and retention webbing over time.
  • Inspect the chin strap, buckle and retention system before each ride; retire the helmet if any component is worn, frayed or will not fasten securely.
  • Replace the helmet after any significant impact — internal EPS damage is often invisible; when in doubt, retire it.
  • As a general guideline, replace the helmet every five years from the date of first use, or sooner if the shell, retention system or padding shows visible wear or degradation.
