The Kenda K270 Dual Sport is a tube-type trail tyre built as a straight replacement for the original equipment rubber on dual sport and trail machines. This listing covers the 4.60-18 rear fitment with a 4-ply rated casing and a 63P load and speed rating.

Its block tread pattern is aimed at riders splitting their time roughly 40% dirt and 60% sealed road, so it holds up on the commute and the transport stages while still finding grip once the tar runs out. The K270 is DOT approved for road use and is offered across the wider K270 range in 15 popular sizes, making it easy to match front and rear.

  • Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using proper tyre levers or a machine — bias tube-type carcasses are easily damaged by careless fitting.
  • This is a tube type tyre: fit it with a matching inner tube and a fresh rim band or rubber rim strip. Do not run it tubeless.
  • Fit a new tube rather than reusing an old one, and dust the tube lightly with talc so it can seat without chafing inside the casing.
  • Check the rotation arrow and any fitting marks on the sidewall before the tyre is seated, and align the valve stem square to the rim so you can see if the tyre is creeping.
  • Use a rim lock (or check the one already fitted) if you intend to run low pressures off-road, otherwise the tyre can spin on the rim and tear the valve out of the tube.
  • Set and check cold inflation pressures against the pressures specified by your motorcycle manufacturer, and re-check them at least weekly — tube-type tyres lose pressure faster than tubeless.
  • Ride gently for the first stretch after fitting so the mould release agents scrub off and the tyre reaches full grip, and avoid hard braking or aggressive lean angles until then.
  • Re-check pressures after any low-pressure off-road session before returning to sealed roads, and stay within the load and speed rating marked on the sidewall.
  • Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded stones, chunked knobs, sidewall damage and uneven wear, and replace the tyre once tread depth reaches the legal minimum in your state.
  • Store spare tyres flat or upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, solvents, fuels and electric motors, which produce ozone that degrades rubber.
