The Kenda K270 Dual Sport is a tube-type trail tyre in the 4.50-18 rear size, built as a straightforward replacement for the original-equipment rubber on dual sport and trail bikes. Its block tread pattern is aimed at riders who split their time between sealed roads and dirt, with a DOT approval and a 40% dirt / 60% road usage bias.
This variant runs the 6-ply rated casing, the heavier-duty option in the K270 range, making it a sensible choice for bikes carrying luggage or a pillion, or for riders who spend time on rough, rocky tracks. It must be fitted with an inner tube.

- Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using proper tyre levers or a machine — this is a tube type tyre and must never be run tubeless.
- Fit a new inner tube of the correct size, and check that the rim tape or rubber rim band fully covers the spoke nipples so they cannot chafe the tube.
- Use tyre-fitting lubricant or soapy water when seating the beads; avoid oil, grease or solvents, which can damage the rubber.
- Follow any fitment or rotation direction markings moulded into the sidewall, and check the bead line sits evenly all the way around both sides after inflation.
- Tighten rim locks and the valve stem nut correctly; a valve stem that starts to lean is a sign the tube has slipped and pressure should be checked immediately.
- Scrub the tyre in gently over the first rides — new tread carries a release film from the mould, so avoid hard acceleration, heavy braking and full lean angles until the surface has worn in.
- Check pressures cold and regularly against the pressures specified by your motorcycle manufacturer, and never exceed the maximum load and pressure marked on the sidewall.
- Inspect the tread and sidewalls often for cuts, embedded stones and uneven wear; replace the tyre if damage reaches the casing or the tread is worn out.
- Clean with mild soap and water only — avoid petrol, solvents and tyre-shine dressings, particularly on the tread face.
- Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from electric motors, fuels and solvents.
