The Kenda K257D Klassic is an old-school knobby tyre in a 3.50-18 rear fitment, built for riders running vintage motocross and off-road machinery — or modern trail bikes that suit a period-correct look. The blocky, widely spaced tread pattern is designed to find drive across a mix of surfaces rather than being tuned to one narrow terrain.

It is a tube-type (TT) tyre with a 4-ply rating and a 56M load and speed marking, so an appropriately sized inner tube is required. Kenda specifies a rubber compound aimed at balancing grip with tread life, which suits club-level competition, paddock and trail use where a tyre needs to last more than a weekend.

Sold individually. Please confirm the size, load rating and speed symbol against your motorcycle manufacturer's recommendations before fitting.

  • Classic knob tread pattern for traction across varied terrain

  • Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre fitter — levering a stiff knobby carcass by hand risks pinching the tube and damaging the bead.
  • This is a tube-type tyre: fit a new inner tube of the matching size, along with sound rim tape, and refit any rim lock your wheel uses.
  • Use a proper tyre-mounting lubricant or soapy water on the beads when fitting; never use oil, grease or solvent-based products, which degrade rubber.
  • Check any rotation arrow or fitting direction moulded into the sidewall before the wheel goes back in.
  • Set cold inflation pressures to the figures in your motorcycle's owner's manual or placard — do not exceed the maximum pressure moulded on the tyre sidewall.
  • Check pressures cold before every ride or at least weekly; tube-type setups lose pressure more readily than tubeless.
  • Ride gently for the first 100–150 km to scrub in the release agent on the new tread surface and let the tyre seat fully.
  • After the first ride, recheck the pressure, the rim lock nuts and the spoke tension, and confirm the bead is seated evenly around the rim.
  • Inspect regularly for cuts, torn or chunked knobs, embedded stones and sidewall damage; replace the tyre if the casing or bead is damaged.
  • Do not exceed the load and speed limits implied by the 56M marking, and do not run the tyre significantly under-inflated — both cause overheating and carcass failure.
  • Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and fuels or solvents.
  • Replace the tyre once tread depth reaches the minimum required by your state's road rules, or earlier if the knobs are rounded off and drive has dropped away.
