- Replace the oil filter at every engine oil change interval specified in your motorcycle's owner's manual — do not reuse a filter.
- Apply a thin film of clean engine oil to the filter's rubber gasket before installation to ensure a proper seal.
- Hand-tighten until the gasket contacts the mounting surface, then tighten a further three-quarter turn; do not over-torque.
- After installation, run the engine briefly and check for oil leaks around the filter base before riding.
- Dispose of used filters in accordance with local regulations — drain residual oil before disposal.
- Store unused filters in a cool, dry location in their original packaging to prevent contamination of the filter media.
