The K&N KA-1093 is a washable, reusable high-flow replacement air filter designed as a direct drop-in for the factory airbox of the Kawasaki ZZR1100 (1993–2001) and ZZR1200 (2002–2005). It replaces the standard paper element without requiring any modification to the airbox or intake system.

K&N's signature oiled cotton gauze construction allows the filter to be cleaned and re-oiled repeatedly rather than discarded, making it a long-term alternative to disposable OEM paper filters. Once installed, it is serviced using K&N's own cleaner and recharger products rather than replaced at each service interval.

  • Direct OEM replacement — fits factory airbox on Kawasaki ZZR1100 (1993–2001) and ZZR1200 (2002–2005) with no modification required
  • Washable and reusable cotton gauze filter media — serviced with K&N cleaner and oil rather than discarded
  • Multi-layer oiled cotton gauze construction sandwiched between epoxy-coated wire mesh for shape retention
  • Designed to be cleaned and re-oiled at extended service intervals under normal riding conditions
  • Backed by K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty
  • K&N KA-1093 air filter

K&N backs this filter with their Million Mile Limited Warranty, covering defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the original purchaser's vehicle. The warranty does not cover filters that have been damaged through misuse or improper installation.
  • Install the filter into the factory airbox in place of the OEM paper element — no modification to the airbox or intake tract is required.
  • Service interval: inspect the filter periodically and clean when visibly dirty or clogged; K&N's general guidance is every 80,000–100,000 km under normal conditions, or more frequently in dusty environments.
  • Clean using K&N Air Filter Cleaner: apply generously to both sides, allow to soak for approximately 10 minutes to loosen contaminants, then rinse carefully with low-pressure water flowing from the clean side (inside) outward — never use a high-pressure hose.
  • Do not use petrol, solvents, degreasers, or compressed air to clean the filter, as these will damage the cotton gauze media.
  • After rinsing, shake off excess water and allow the filter to air dry completely in a clean area — do not use heat guns or compressed air to speed drying.
  • Once dry, re-oil evenly using K&N Air Filter Oil (aerosol or squeeze bottle); apply a single bead of oil along each pleat on the outer surface, allow it to wick in for approximately 20 minutes, then check for light red areas and apply a second thin coat if needed.
  • Do not over-oil: excess oil can contaminate the intake tract or, on bikes with mass airflow sensors, affect fuelling.
  • After re-oiling and before reinstalling, check that the filter sealing surfaces are clean and undamaged to ensure a proper seal against unfiltered air bypassing the element.
  • Store a cleaned, dry (un-oiled) filter in a sealed bag away from dust, heat, and direct sunlight if not reinstalling immediately.
