- Clean the outer shell with a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; avoid petrol, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the shell finish and visor coatings.
- Clean the visor with a dedicated plastic-safe visor cleaner or mild soap and warm water; never wipe a dry visor as this causes micro-scratches that impair visibility.
- Remove the interior lining and hand-wash in cold water with a gentle detergent; allow to air-dry completely before refitting — do not machine-wash or tumble-dry.
- Check that the drop-down sun visor slides fully open and fully closed before each ride; clear any debris from the slider channel if the action becomes stiff.
- Inspect the Pinlock-ready visor seal regularly and ensure the visor closes flush with no gaps, which can cause wind noise and fogging.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight; prolonged UV exposure degrades polycarbonate shell integrity over time.
- Keep the helmet away from fuel, oil, paint fumes, and chemical solvents — these can silently degrade the EPS liner with no visible external sign.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if no damage is visible; the EPS liner is a single-use energy-absorbing component.
- As a general guideline, retire and replace the helmet within five years of its manufacture date, or earlier if the retention system, shell, or liner show signs of wear.
