- Clean the helmet shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol, aerosol sprays, or abrasive cleaners, which can degrade the shell finish and graphics.
- Clean the visor using warm water and a small amount of mild liquid soap applied with your fingertips; avoid dry cloths or paper towels, which can scratch the lens surface.
- Remove the interior liner and cheek pads and hand-wash them following the care label instructions; allow to air-dry completely before refitting — never use a tumble dryer.
- Inspect the visor regularly for scratches, crazing, or stress marks that reduce optical clarity; replace the visor if visibility is compromised.
- Check the RSP visor locking tabs and visor seal for wear or damage at regular intervals.
- Verify the chin strap retention system is correctly fastened and adjusted before every ride.
- Replace the helmet immediately following any significant impact, even if no external damage is visible — EPS foam compresses permanently on impact and cannot be inspected by appearance alone.
- Store the helmet away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, paint fumes, and chemical cleaners; prolonged exposure to these can degrade the shell, liner, and retention system.
- As a general guide, consider replacing your helmet every five years from the date of manufacture, regardless of apparent condition, as materials degrade over time.
