- Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents or abrasive cleaners, which degrade the shell finish and liner materials.
- Clean the visor with a damp microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry visor as trapped grit will scratch the lens surface.
- To clean the interior, remove the cheek pads and crown liner, hand-wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent, and allow to air-dry completely before refitting — do not tumble-dry or use direct heat.
- Keep the sun shield slider mechanism free of grit and moisture; operate it with clean, dry fingers to prevent binding and premature wear.
- When fitting a Pinlock insert, align the insert pins with the visor pins carefully and press firmly until each pin clicks into place, then check the perimeter seal is even before riding.
- Store the helmet in its carry bag or a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and chemical fumes, all of which degrade EPS and interior materials over time.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact — EPS liners absorb energy by deforming internally and may not provide full protection after a single substantial strike, even if no external damage is visible.
- Replace the visor if it shows deep scratches, crazing or optical distortion that could impair vision.
