Clean the outer shell and visor with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petrol, solvents or abrasive cleaners, as these can degrade the polycarbonate shell and visor optics.
Remove the liner and cheekpads using the interior release tabs, then hand-wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent; allow to air dry completely before refitting — do not machine wash or tumble dry.
To remove the visor, press the quick-release tabs at the pivot points on each side and lift away; reverse the process to refit and confirm the visor is locked before riding.
Inspect the chin strap and buckle before each ride for signs of wear, fraying or deformation; replace immediately if damaged.
After any impact — even if no visible damage is present — retire and replace the helmet; the internal EPS liner may be compromised in ways that are not externally apparent.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and chemical fumes, which can degrade both the shell and interior foam over time.
Do not apply paint, adhesives or stickers directly to the shell unless confirmed compatible by HJC, as solvents in these products can weaken polycarbonate.
To fit a Pinlock anti-fog insert, align the insert pins with the mounting points on the inside of the visor, press firmly until each pin locks, and confirm the seal is continuous around the full perimeter before riding in cold or wet conditions.
