- Clean the shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and warm water; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners as these can damage the shell and graphic finish.
- Clean the face shield with water and a soft cloth only — never wipe a dry visor as it may scratch.
- Remove the interior liner and cheek pads before washing; hand-wash in cool water with a mild detergent and allow to air dry completely before reinstalling.
- Do not machine-wash the liner or helmet shell.
- Store the helmet in its bag or box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and extreme temperatures.
- Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no visible damage is apparent — the EPS liner is a single-use protective component.
- Inspect the retention strap, buckle, and shell for cracks or wear before each ride; retire the helmet if damage is found.
- As a general guide, consider replacing any helmet that is five or more years old, as materials degrade over time — consult HJC's guidance for this specific model.
