The GIVI 166FZ is a model-specific Monorack sidearm kit for the Honda VFR800 VTEC (2002-2011). It bolts to the bike's existing mounting points to create the rear structure that a GIVI top case attaches to, keeping the load low and close to the subframe rather than hanging off improvised brackets.

This is the mounting hardware only. A separate Monokey or Monolock top case plate is required to complete the fitment, and the top case itself is bought separately. It suits VFR800 riders adding commuting or touring luggage capacity who want a bolt-on solution matched to their bike rather than a universal rack.

Please check the plate compatibility notes below before ordering, as some plate options limit the accessories that can be fitted to the case.

Fit using the model-specific hardware supplied and the instructions included in the kit, following GIVI's stated tightening figures - do not substitute fasteners.
Fit the required Monokey or Monolock plate to the sidearms before attempting to mount a top case; the rack will not accept a case on its own.
Re-check all mounting bolts after the first ride with a loaded case, then at regular service intervals, as vibration can loosen fasteners over time.
Observe the load limit stated by GIVI for the top case and plate you are using, and reduce the load for sustained high-speed or rough-road riding.
Distribute weight low and forward inside the case rather than at the rear, and avoid carrying heavy items on the rack that are not secured by the plate.
Wash with mild soapy water and a soft cloth; avoid solvents, degreasers and abrasive pads that can damage the finish.
Rinse and dry the rack after riding in rain, on salted roads or near the coast, and touch up any paint chips promptly to prevent corrosion.
Keep the plate's locking mechanism and release lever clean and free of grit; lubricate the lock barrel sparingly with a lock-suitable lubricant.
Remove the top case when it is not needed to reduce weight and wind loading, and check that the case is fully latched and locked to the plate before every ride.
Inspect the sidearms for cracks, bending or elongated bolt holes after any drop or impact and replace damaged parts rather than straightening them.
