- Before installation, ensure the handlebar is clean and free of grease where the clamp will sit.
- Follow Garmin's included installation guide for correct torque on all fasteners — do not overtighten, as this can crack the mount body.
- Inspect all mounting hardware periodically (especially after off-road use or extended vibration) and re-tighten any loose fasteners.
- To remove the Zumo XT2 from the bracket, use the release lever as designed — avoid forcing the unit free, which can damage the locking tab.
- Clean the bracket with a damp cloth; avoid spraying water directly into the device connector area or lock mechanism.
- Store in a dry location if removed from the bike during extended periods off the road.
- If the locking mechanism feels stiff, a small amount of dry lubricant on the release lever pivot is preferable to oil, which attracts grit.
