- Before installation, turn the existing fuel valve to the OFF position and drain or isolate the fuel tank to prevent spillage.
- Ensure the fuel valve is seated correctly and all mounting hardware is tightened to the manufacturer's specified torque — do not over-tighten, as this can crack the valve body or damage sealing surfaces.
- After installation, check all fuel line connections for leaks before starting the engine; inspect again after the first run.
- Operate the valve in the correct positions: OFF when the ATV is stored or unattended, ON for normal running, and RESERVE only when the main fuel supply is exhausted.
