- Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth and a mild soap solution; never use petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or petrol, as these can degrade the shell and liner materials.
- Remove the interior liner and cheek pads before washing; hand-wash in cool water with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and allow to air-dry fully before refitting.
- Clean the visor with a damp, lint-free cloth; avoid paper towels or dry cloths that can scratch the lens surface.
- Inspect the chin strap webbing and buckle before every ride; retire the strap if it shows fraying, cuts or buckle damage.
- Replace the helmet immediately following any significant impact, even if no external damage is visible — the internal EPS liner absorbs energy by deforming permanently and cannot self-restore.
- Store the helmet in a breathable bag or box in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and solvents, all of which degrade helmet materials over time.
- Do not apply stickers, paint or adhesives to the outer shell unless specifically approved by the manufacturer, as these can hide cracks and introduce solvents that weaken the shell.
- Clear ventilation ports of accumulated road debris with a soft brush; ensure intake and exhaust vents open and close freely before each ride.
