- Fit with the motorcycle on a stable stand and the engine cold; support the bike securely before removing the standard footrests.
- Use the original mounting pins, clips and springs where the kit does not supply replacements, and check that each retaining clip is fully seated before riding.
- Tighten fasteners evenly and follow Triumph's specified torque figures for the footrest mounts — do not over-tighten.
- Re-check all fasteners and retaining hardware after the first short ride, then periodically as part of routine servicing.
- Rinse off mud, road salt and grit after wet or off-road rides, then dry thoroughly to keep the pivot working freely.
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent using a soft brush; avoid harsh solvents, caustic cleaners and high-pressure washing directly at the pivot.
- Apply a light machine oil or corrosion-inhibiting spray to the pivot pin and spring after washing, wiping away any excess so it does not transfer to the tread surface.
- Keep the standing surface free of oil, grease and chain lube so boot grip is not reduced.
- Inspect regularly for bent, cracked or heavily worn components, especially after a drop or a fall, and replace damaged parts rather than attempting to straighten them.
- Retain the original footrests and hardware in case you need to return the bike to standard.
