- Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petrol-based solvents or abrasive cleaners that can damage the finish.
- Remove and hand-wash removable interior liner and cheek pads in lukewarm water with mild detergent; allow to air-dry fully before reinserting.
- Clean the visor with a soft, damp cloth; never use paper towels or dry cloth which can cause fine scratches.
- Inspect the chin strap and retention system regularly for signs of wear or fraying; replace if damaged.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and fuel vapours, which can degrade foam and shell materials over time.
- Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the helmet during storage.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if no visible damage is apparent — internal EPS foam does not recover after a single compression event.
- As a general guideline, manufacturers recommend replacing helmets every five years from date of manufacture regardless of condition; check the manufacture date label inside the helmet.
