The EK 525 3D L-Series is a sealed motorcycle drive chain from EK Chains, a Japanese manufacturer with a long-standing reputation in the powersports industry. Finished in black and gold, the 124-link chain suits a wide range of mid- to large-displacement street and road motorcycles that use a 525-pitch drivetrain.
The 3D designation refers to EK's proprietary three-dimensional sealing technology, which is designed to retain lubricant and reduce friction compared to conventional O-ring designs, supporting longer chain life with regular maintenance.

- Clean the chain every 500–800 km or after riding in wet or dirty conditions using a dedicated motorcycle chain cleaner; avoid high-pressure washers aimed directly at the seals.
- Allow the chain to dry fully before applying lubricant.
- Lubricate with a quality O-ring/X-ring-compatible chain lube applied to the inner side of the chain while rotating the wheel slowly; wipe off excess to prevent fling-off.
- Check chain tension regularly and adjust to your motorcycle manufacturer's specified slack — a chain that is too tight or too loose accelerates wear on the chain, sprockets, and gearbox.
- Inspect the chain for stiff links, corrosion, or damaged side plates before each ride; replace immediately if any are found.
- Measure chain wear with a chain-wear indicator tool; replace the chain (and ideally the sprockets) once stretch exceeds the manufacturer's service limit.
- When fitting, ensure the master link clip (if applicable) is installed with the closed end facing the direction of travel.
- Store the chain in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and chemicals if removing from the motorcycle for extended periods; apply a light coat of lubricant before storage.
- Always replace chain and sprockets as a matched set to maximise drivetrain life.
