A single replacement connecting link for EK 428 SROZ O-ring chain. The clip-style join is the quickest and simplest way to close a chain, using a spring clip rather than a riveted pin, so no chain-specific tooling is needed to fit it.

It suits riders who need a spare join link in the workshop or trail kit, or who are refitting a 428 O-ring chain after removal. Clip links of this type are supplied as standard with many EK chains in 520 pitch and under, and are best suited to single-cylinder off-road machines rather than high-output applications. Sold individually.

  • Single 428 pitch connecting link for EK 428 SROZ chain

  • Fit only to EK 428 SROZ O-ring chain — match the link to the pitch and series of the chain you are joining.
  • Installation needs only a pair of pliers to seat the spring clip; no chain breaker or riveting tool is required.
  • Keep the O-rings in place on the pins during assembly and make sure the side plate is seated square before fitting the clip.
  • Fit the spring clip so the closed (rounded) end faces the direction of chain travel on the top run, and check it is fully seated in both pin grooves.
  • Treat the clip and link as single-use — do not refit a clip link that has been removed or a clip that has been distorted or has lost tension.
  • Check the clip is still in place and the link is secure during routine chain inspections, and after any off-road ride.
  • Clean with a chain-safe cleaner and a soft brush only; avoid petrol, harsh solvents, wire brushes and high-pressure washers, which can damage the O-rings.
  • Lubricate the link along with the rest of the chain so the lube reaches the plate edges and O-rings, and wipe off the excess.
  • A clip link is not suited to high-output machines — use a rivet-type joining link where the chain manufacturer or bike specifies one.
