The Continental TKC 70 sits between the knobbly TKC 80 Twinduro and the road-focused ContiTrailAttack, giving adventure and dual-sport riders a tyre that behaves like a sports-touring tyre on sealed roads while still coping with gravel and light trail work. This listing is for the 150/70 R17 69V tubeless rear fitment.

It suits riders on mid-capacity and large-capacity adventure machines who spend most of their time on the black stuff but want confidence when the tar runs out. A 0° steel-belted radial casing keeps it stable and comfortable at highway speeds, the continuous centre band keeps road noise down and wear even, and the compound is built for short warm-up and strong wet grip. It is also fitted as original equipment on the KTM 390 Adventure.

Sold individually as a rear tyre.

  • Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using correct machinery — tubeless radials should not be fitted by hand.
  • Check that 150/70 R17 is an approved rear size for your motorcycle and that the load index (69) and speed rating (V) meet or exceed your bike's requirements before fitting.
  • Observe the directional rotation arrow moulded into the sidewall when fitting.
  • Scrub the tyre in gently for the first stretch of riding: avoid hard acceleration, heavy braking and full lean angles until the moulding release agents have worn off the surface.
  • Check pressures when the tyre is cold and set them to the pressures specified in your motorcycle's owner's manual; adjust for load and, where the manufacturer permits, drop pressure only for genuine off-road sections and reset before returning to sealed roads.
  • Re-check pressures at least fortnightly and before any long ride — underinflation causes heat build-up, rapid centre wear and unstable handling.
  • Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded stones, bulges, cracking or uneven wear, and replace the tyre if the casing is damaged.
  • Replace before the tread wear indicators are reached; Australian road rules require at least 1.5 mm of tread depth across the tread pattern.
  • Do not exceed the tyre's V speed rating or the load rating, and re-balance after any puncture repair.
  • Clean with mild soap and water only. Keep petrol, brake fluid, solvents and silicone-based tyre shine off the tread and sidewalls.
  • Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and sharp edges.
