The Alpinestars Chrome Ride Shoe is a casual-looking riding shoe built for everyday urban use. A modern, low-profile silhouette in split suede keeps it wearable off the bike, while integrated ankle protection and heel and toe reinforcement give it a genuine level of motorcycle-specific protection that a normal sneaker cannot offer.

Underfoot, Alpinestars' advanced urban sole pairs a PU midsole with a rubber cup sole for walking comfort and grip, and the Transversal Protection Frame (TPF) in lightweight polyamide adds structure through the sole unit. An elasticated closure over the laces speeds up entry and keeps loops tidy so they cannot flap or snag on the footpeg, and the OrthoLite® insock adds cushioning and breathability on longer days.

Brush loose dirt and dust off the split suede with a dry suede brush before it works into the nap; do not scrub wet mud.
Spot clean marks with a suede eraser or a barely damp cloth — avoid soaking, solvents, petrol, bleach or detergents, which will stain and stiffen the suede.
Never machine wash or tumble dry, and keep the shoes away from heaters, exhausts and direct sunlight when drying.
If they get wet, remove the OrthoLite® insock, loosen the laces and let both dry naturally at room temperature; stuff with paper to hold the shape.
Treat these as non-waterproof footwear — a suede protector spray suited to nubuck/suede will help shed light rain and reduce staining.
Use the elasticated closure over the laces every ride so lace loops cannot flap or hook on the footpeg or gear lever.
Adjust the laces for a firm, secure fit around the ankle — the ankle protectors only work when the shoe is done up properly.
Allow a short break-in period of everyday wear so the upper moulds to your foot before long rides.
Inspect the sole, heel and toe reinforcement and ankle area regularly; replace the shoes if the sole is worn smooth or the protectors are damaged.
Retire and replace any protective footwear that has been through a crash, even if the damage looks superficial.
Store in a cool, dry, ventilated place out of direct sunlight rather than sealed in a plastic bag.
