A short, weather-sealed charging lead from Chigee that runs from a USB Type-C power source to a Lightning device. At just 30cm, it is sized for the short runs typical of a motorcycle cockpit — from a bar-mounted USB-C outlet or a Chigee display unit across to a phone in a mount or a tank bag — without leaving a loop of spare cable to tape down.

It suits riders who charge an iPhone or other Lightning device while riding and need something that tolerates being left on the bike. A sealing cap covers the connector when it is not plugged in, and the lead carries the same part (MFP0096) supplied through Chigee's Australian distribution.

Note: charging speed is ultimately limited by your power source and by what the connected device will accept.

  • Refit the waterproof cap over the connector whenever the cable is not plugged in — the IP66 rating depends on the cap being seated and the plug being fully home.
  • Shake or blow water and grit out of the connector before plugging in, and make sure both the plug and the device port are dry.
  • Grip the moulded connector housing when unplugging; pulling on the cable itself is the most common cause of failure at the strain relief.
  • Route and cable-tie the lead clear of the steering lock-to-lock arc, the fork legs, exhaust headers and any pinch points, leaving a little slack at each end.
  • Do not coil the cable tightly around a bar, mirror stem or the phone mount for storage — tight loops break conductors over time.
  • Wipe with a soft, damp cloth only. Keep solvents, degreasers, chain cleaner and pressure washers away from the connectors.
  • Inspect the jacket periodically for cuts, chafe marks or exposed shielding, and replace the cable if the insulation is damaged.
  • Charging speed depends on the USB-C source and the connected device; a low-output port will charge more slowly regardless of the cable.
  • Unplug and remove the cable if the bike is stored for a long period, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight and heat.
