The Biltwell Gringo SV takes the brand's classic Gringo silhouette and brings it up to current safety standards, pairing period-correct looks with a modern shield system and improved ventilation. It's a full-face helmet built for riders who want the stripped-back, retro aesthetic of a cruiser, bobber, cafe racer or classic without giving up chin-bar protection.
An injection-moulded ABS shell keeps weight down, while a dual-density EPS liner manages impact energy and the removable fleece Lycra comfort liner handles perspiration on longer rides. Front, side and rear vent ports plus adjustable brow vents move air through the helmet, and the hinge hardware is designed to be swapped out so you can personalise the finish.
Please note: the Gringo SV uses a revised shield closure and is not compatible with shields from the earlier Gringo S. ECE 22.06 shell sizing differs from the previous 22.05 model, so check your measurements against the size chart rather than assuming your usual size.

- Check your head measurement against the current ECE 22.06 size chart before ordering — shell sizing changed from the earlier 22.05 model, so your previous size may not carry over.
- Fasten the double D-ring so the strap is snug under the jaw; use the red pull tab to release it, and never ride with the strap loose or clipped short of the second ring.
- The hinge detents are designed to hold the shield open for cooling at low speeds only — close the shield before riding at road speeds.
- Clean the polycarbonate shield with lukewarm water and a mild soap using a soft cloth; petrol-based cleaners, solvents and ammonia glass cleaners will damage the anti-fog and anti-scratch treatments.
- Use only Gringo SV shields — the revised closure means shields from the older Gringo S will not fit.
- Remove the comfort liner and cheek pads periodically and hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, then air dry away from direct heat or sunlight before refitting. Replacement liners and cheek pads are available if they wear out.
- Wipe the ABS shell with a damp cloth and mild soap only; avoid solvents, petrol and abrasive cleaners.
- If you swap the anodised washers and hinge screws for another finish, check they are seated and secure before riding, and re-check periodically.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight; keep it away from fuel and exhaust fumes and don't hang it on a mirror or handlebar where the EPS can be dented.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if there is no visible damage to the outer shell — the EPS liner compresses once and does not recover.
