A compact replacement indicator globe for motorcycles and scooters running a 12 volt electrical system. The clear glass envelope means it is intended for use behind a coloured indicator lens, and the small body suits the tighter housings used on mini and factory-style blinkers.

Sold as a straight swap for a worn or blown blinker globe, this is a routine service item worth keeping spares of in the toolbox or under the seat. Check that the base type and rating match the globe you are removing before fitting.

Stock code 45-194-7MC.

  • Switch the ignition off and let the old globe cool before removing it — indicator bulbs get hot in use.
  • Check the globe you are replacing is 12 V, 23 W with a BA15s base; a BA15s bulb will not seat correctly in a BAU15s (offset-pin) socket.
  • Fit by pushing the base gently into the socket and twisting a quarter turn until the bayonet pins lock.
  • Handle the globe by its metal base and wipe any fingerprints from the glass with a clean, lint-free cloth before fitting.
  • Inspect the socket for corrosion or green contacts and clean it up before fitting a new globe — a poor earth is a common cause of dim or intermittent indicators.
  • Refit the indicator lens with its gasket or seal correctly seated so water cannot get into the housing.
  • Stick to the 23 W rating; changing wattage alters the load on the flasher relay and can make the indicators flash too fast or too slow.
  • After fitting, run both left and right indicators and check the flash rate and the dash telltale before riding.
  • Keep spare globes in their packaging in a dry place and avoid knocking them, as the filament is easily damaged by impact.
