The Bridgestone Battlecross E50 is a rear enduro tyre in 140/80-18, developed from Bridgestone's off-road tyre programme. It takes the tread technology used in the Battlecross motocross range and reworks it for real-world enduro riding, where a tyre has to hook up in dirt, mud, rock and roots, then still be legal on the transport sections between stages.

Because it is road homologated, the E50 suits riders who need one tyre for both liaison and competition. It is eligible for enduro competition use and is aimed at enduro racers, hard enduro riders and trail riders on registered dirt bikes who want a competition-pattern knobby without swapping tyres before every ride.

Bridgestone positions the E50 as an across-the-board improvement on the model it replaces, with gains in traction, cornering grip and ease of fitting. Sold individually as a rear tyre in tube-type construction.

  • Rear enduro tyre in 140/80-18 M/C, load and speed rating 70P
  • Road homologated and DOT approved for legal use on the road
  • Eligible for enduro competition use, including FIM enduro events
  • Tread pattern derived from Bridgestone Battlecross motocross technology and re-optimised for enduro
  • Increased traction under drive compared with the previous-generation tyre
  • Increased cornering grip on loose and mixed surfaces
  • Designed to perform across varied terrain rather than a single surface type
  • Bead design intended to make mounting and rim fitting easier
  • Tube-type construction (requires an inner tube)
  • Sold as a single rear tyre

  • Fit only to a rim of the correct size and type for 140/80-18, and have fitting done by a qualified tyre technician — enduro knobbies are stiff and easy to damage with tyre levers.
  • This is a tube-type tyre: always fit a new, correctly sized inner tube and check the rim tape and rim lock condition at the same time.
  • Observe the rotation arrow moulded on the sidewall when mounting; a rear knobby fitted backwards loses drive and braking performance.
  • Check and set cold tyre pressures before every ride, following the pressures specified in your motorcycle's owner's manual for the intended terrain and any applicable competition rules.
  • Scrub the tyre in gently for the first few kilometres before hard riding, particularly on sealed liaison sections, so the release agent from the mould wears off.
  • After each ride, wash off mud and grit with water and mild detergent, then inspect for cuts, torn or missing knobs, stones lodged between the blocks, and any sidewall damage.
  • Do not use petrol, solvents, brake cleaner or tyre dressings on the tread or sidewalls — they degrade the rubber and reduce grip.
  • Avoid exceeding the tyre's 70P load and speed rating on road sections, and remember that a competition-pattern knobby offers limited grip on wet bitumen.
  • Retorque or re-check the rim lock and valve stem nut after the first ride following fitment, as the tube can settle and shift.
  • Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and any fuels or oils.
  • Replace the tyre when the knobs are worn down, torn at the base, or when cuts reach the carcass — do not attempt to repair a damaged off-road carcass.
