The Alpinestars S-M7 Cast is a dedicated off-road race helmet built around a lightweight multi-layer composite shell, heavy-duty ventilation and a smooth, channel-free profile designed to shed impact energy rather than catch it. This is the ECE 22.06 version, finished in a gloss blue, pink and fluo yellow colourway.

It suits motocross, enduro and off-road riders who want race-level protection without carrying unnecessary weight — the ECE model comes in at 1280g in a size medium. Alpinestars' patented A-Head Fitment System lets you fine-tune how the helmet sits on your head, while the patented Visor Detaching System and PLASMA collarbone-area technology target the specific ways off-road crashes tend to go wrong.

Helmet only — goggles and accessories are sold separately.

  • ECE 22.06 homologated off-road racing helmet
  • Multi-layer pre-preg composite shell blending fibreglass, carbon and Aramid fibre
  • 1280g in a size medium (ECE version)
  • Patented A-Head Fitment System adjusts helmet height and angle on the head
  • Patented Visor Detaching System releases at impact energy above 15 Joules, from any direction
  • PLASMA technology integrated into the lower side pads for collarbone-area energy dissipation
  • Smooth aerodynamic shell with no external channels that could act as an impact load point
  • 20 individual vents — 13 intakes and 7 exhausts, not counting the eye port
  • Three shell sizes (M, L, XL) across six rider sizes from XS to XXL
  • Removable, washable antimicrobial liner with 3D foam cheek pads
  • Cheek pads available in multiple thicknesses and interchangeable across all shell sizes
  • Emergency Release System (ERS) cheek pads for safer helmet removal by first responders
  • Integrated hydration channels on both sides for a drink tube
  • Intercom ready — left-side EPS cutaway with speaker recesses on both sides
  • Eject Removal System ready via a removable insert on top of the EPS
  • Double-D ring retention with a 25mm nylon strap, stainless steel rings and removable washable covers

  • Set up the A-Head system before your first ride — adjust the height and angle of the top pad so the helmet sits level and the eye port lines up with your goggles.
  • Fine-tune fit with genuine Alpinestars replacement cheek pads, which come in several thicknesses and interchange across all shell sizes.
  • Remove the liner and cheek pads to wash: hand wash only in warm water (30°C maximum) with a neutral soap, then air dry away from direct sunlight and artificial heat. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or use bleach.
  • The chin strap covers are removable for washing; refit them before riding and always fasten the double-D rings properly — never ride with the strap unbuckled or clipped back on itself.
  • Clean the shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soapy water only. Keep petrol, solvents, ammonia-based cleaners and abrasives away from the paint, decals and composite shell.
  • Route a hydration tube through the integrated side channels and cheek pad channel; fit an intercom using the left-side EPS cutaway and the speaker recesses on both sides.
  • Check the visor and its release mechanism before each ride. The visor is designed to detach in a crash — refit it correctly afterwards, and replace it if the mounting points or the visor itself are damaged.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, ideally in a helmet bag, and don't hang it off mirrors or handlebar ends where the liner and EPS can be deformed.
  • Don't paint the shell, apply solvent-based stickers or modify the EPS — any of these can compromise the ECE 22.06 rated construction.
  • Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if there is no visible damage; the EPS liner is designed to crush once and will not protect you the same way a second time.
