  • Drain and capture all existing clutch fluid before disassembling the slave cylinder to avoid contamination of paintwork or other components.
  • Clean the slave cylinder bore thoroughly and inspect for scoring or corrosion before installing rebuild components; do not proceed if the bore is damaged.
  • Lubricate new seals with fresh, clean clutch fluid of the correct specification before fitting — never use grease or petroleum-based lubricants on hydraulic seals.
  • Reassemble to manufacturer torque specifications; over-tightening bleed nipples or banjo bolts can crack the cylinder body.
  • After reassembly, bleed the hydraulic clutch circuit fully to remove all air before testing clutch operation.
  • Use only the fluid type specified in the KTM or Husqvarna workshop manual for the relevant model year; mixing fluid types can degrade seal integrity.
  • Dispose of used clutch fluid responsibly — do not pour it down drains or mix with other fluids.
  • Inspect the rebuilt cylinder for leaks after the first ride and re-bleed if clutch feel changes.
