The All Balls Racing 46-2007 Hot Start Plunger Kit is a replacement rebuild kit for the carburettor hot start circuit on selected KTM, Kawasaki and Suzuki models. The hot start plunger lets a warm engine draw extra air when starting, and a worn or leaking plunger can cause poor idle, hard starting or a bogging engine, so replacing it is a common part of routine carburettor servicing.
It suits riders and workshops rebuilding a carburettor rather than replacing it, and is supplied as a service kit under All Balls Racing part number 46-2007. Fitment varies by model and year, so check the part number against your carburettor before ordering.

- Confirm fitment by matching part number 46-2007 and your carburettor type to your model and year before fitting.
- Work only on a cool engine with the fuel tap turned off, and drain the float bowl before disturbing the hot start assembly.
- Work over a clean tray or bench mat — the plunger, spring and seals are small and easy to lose.
- Clean the plunger bore in the carburettor body with carburettor cleaner and dry it with low-pressure compressed air; do not use abrasives, wire brushes or drill bits, which can damage the seat.
- Fit the new plunger and seal without forcing them, and tighten the retaining nut firmly by hand tools only — over-tightening can distort the carburettor body or thread.
- Check the hot start cable free play after fitting so the plunger seats fully closed when the lever is released; a plunger held partly open will cause a lean, unstable idle.
- Refit the carburettor, turn the fuel on and check for leaks before starting, then confirm the engine idles cleanly with the hot start disengaged.
- Operate the hot start only for starting a warm engine; disengage it once the engine is running.
- Inspect the plunger and seal whenever the carburettor is next serviced, and replace them if the seal is hardened, swollen or grooved.
- Store unused kits in their packaging in a cool, dry place, away from fuel, solvents and direct sunlight, so the rubber components do not degrade.
