  • Drain all fuel from the carburettor and clean the carburettor body with carburettor cleaner and compressed air before beginning the rebuild.
  • Disassemble the carburettor in a clean, well-lit workspace and lay all original components out to identify what each kit part replaces before discarding anything.
  • Lubricate new O-rings lightly with clean petrol or assembly lubricant before fitting to prevent tearing during installation.
  • Do not overtighten jets or screws — the carburettor body and jet threads are easily stripped; tighten to the vehicle manufacturer's specified torque.
  • After reassembly, set the pilot screw and idle speed to the Yamaha YFZ50 OEM baseline before fine-tuning at operating temperature.
  • Inspect all gasket and O-ring seating surfaces for nicks or corrosion before fitting new components; damaged surfaces will cause fuel leaks regardless of new seals.
  • Check for fuel leaks at all joints with the fuel tap open before attempting to start the engine.
