Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based cleaners, solvents or abrasive cloths that can damage the carbon fibre finish or clear coat.
Clean the visor by removing it from the helmet and washing with warm water and a soft cloth — never wipe a dry visor as this scratches the anti-scratch coating.
Remove the inner liner and cheek pads and hand-wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent; allow to air-dry fully before refitting.
Inspect the chin bar locking mechanism before each ride to confirm it engages and releases correctly with a firm click.
To fit a Pinlock insert, remove the visor, align the insert's pins with the visor's Pinlock pins on each side, and press until each pin clicks securely; check the perimeter seal is airtight.
Do not leave the helmet in direct sunlight for extended periods — UV exposure and high heat degrade the EPS liner over time.
Store in a helmet bag or cool, dry location away from fuel, chemicals and solvents.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact even if no external damage is visible — EPS liner compression damage is internal and cannot be assessed by sight.
As general industry guidance, consider helmet replacement after five years from the date of manufacture or sooner if the helmet has sustained an impact.
