- Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid solvents, petrol-based products, and abrasive cleaners, which can damage the paintwork and underlying shell.
- Remove the internal liner and cheek pads and hand-wash in cool water with a mild detergent; allow all components to air dry completely before reassembling.
- Store the helmet in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and extremes of heat or cold.
- Inspect visor fitment and vent sliders before each ride, and clean the visor with a dedicated visor cleaner or plain water — never wipe a dry visor as grit will cause scratching.
- After any significant impact — even one that appears minor — retire the helmet; carbon fibre damage is not always visible externally.
- Replace the helmet in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended service life regardless of apparent condition.
- Verify that ERS cheek pads are correctly reinstalled after washing; each pad must click securely into its retaining bracket so the emergency release functions as intended.
- Do not paint, drill, modify, or apply solvent-based adhesive stickers to the shell, as doing so may compromise structural integrity and void certifications.
