Clean the shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap only — never use solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners, as these degrade thermoplastic and painted finishes.
Clean the visor with lukewarm water and a few drops of mild soap, then pat dry with a lint-free cloth; avoid wiping a dry visor, which causes micro-scratches.
Remove the interior lining before washing — hand-wash in cool water with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and air-dry flat away from direct heat.
Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no external damage is visible; the EPS liner is a single-use energy-absorbing component.
Store the helmet in its bag or box in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapour, and chemical fumes, all of which degrade the shell and EPS over time.
Inspect the visor for crazing, deep scratches, or discolouration before each ride — impaired optics increase glare and reduce visibility, particularly at night.
Check the chin-strap closure and retention system for fraying or corrosion regularly; replace if the strap shows signs of wear.
Do not hang the helmet on mirrors or handlebar ends for extended periods — prolonged localised pressure can deform the EPS liner.
AGV recommends retiring and replacing the helmet after five years from the date of manufacture, regardless of condition, due to gradual degradation of materials.
