Cheek pads compress and wear over time, and fresh padding restores the snug, stable fit the helmet was designed around — useful if your current pads have packed out, become soiled, or if you want a firmer hold without changing helmets.

The 40mm thickness is the pad option matched to K3 helmet sizes XS, S and XL. Because AGV cheek pads are interchangeable between helmet sizes, you can also use thickness to fine-tune fit: a thicker pad tightens the fit around the cheeks, a thinner one relieves pressure. The pads are removable and washable, so they can be taken out for cleaning and refitted.

Check the pad thickness against your helmet size before ordering — 40mm is the thickness matched to K3 helmet sizes XS, S and XL.
Remove the old pads by unclipping the press studs on the pad backing plate and easing the padding away from the chin strap and shell; note how the strap passes through the pad before you pull it out.
Fit the new pads with the chin strap fed through the correct opening in the pad, then press the studs home until they are all fully seated — an unseated stud can let the pad shift while riding.
Wash the pads by hand in lukewarm water with a mild soap; do not machine wash, tumble dry, bleach or dry clean.
Air dry the pads fully away from direct sunlight and any heat source before refitting; refitting damp pads encourages odour and mildew.
Do not use petrol, solvents, thinners or other harsh chemicals near the padding or helmet interior — they can degrade the foam and the shell.
Wash pads regularly if you ride in heat or use the helmet daily; sweat and hair products break down foam over time.
Replace the pads when the foam has compressed and the helmet feels loose at the cheeks, or if the fabric is torn or perished.
If the fit feels too tight or too loose, try a different pad thickness rather than forcing the fit — AGV K3 pads are interchangeable across helmet sizes.
Store spare pads flat in a cool, dry place so the foam does not take a set.
