The RXT 918 is a modular (flip-up) road helmet finished in matt black, built on a modern-shape ABS shell with a multi-density EPS liner. The chin bar lifts clear of the face, so you can talk, drink or take a breather at the lights without unbuckling.

It carries ECE 22.06 approval with P/J dual homologation, meaning it is certified for riding in both the closed (full-face) and raised (open-face) positions. A drop-down internal sun visor, Pinlock-ready main visor and multi-point ventilation make it a practical everyday choice for commuters, tourers and anyone who wants one helmet to cover a mix of riding.

Wind tunnel development targets ventilation, noise and aerodynamics, while the removable washable lining and recesses for a Bluetooth communicator keep it liveable over long days in the saddle.

  • Before every ride, close the chin bar until it latches on both sides and check the micrometric buckle is ratcheted firmly — the helmet should not roll forward off your head.
  • Raise or lower the chin bar with a firm, deliberate movement using the front release; do not force it while the visor is locked shut.
  • Retract the internal sun visor fully in low light, at dusk and at night — it is a tinted sun shield, not a night-riding visor.
  • Wash the shell and visor with lukewarm water and a mild soap using a soft cloth. Avoid petrol, solvents, ammonia-based glass cleaners and abrasive polishes, which can attack the ABS shell, the visor coatings and the EPS.
  • Soften dried insects and road film with a damp cloth laid over the visor for a few minutes rather than scrubbing, and never wipe a dry visor.
  • If you fit a Pinlock insert, seat it on the visor pins and handle only by the edges — the anti-fog coating is easily marked, and it should be dried by patting, not rubbing.
  • Remove the liner, cheek pads and chin curtain and hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Air dry in the shade; never use a machine dryer, radiator or hair dryer, and refit everything correctly before riding.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from fuel, solvent and exhaust fumes. Don't hang it on a mirror or handlebar end, and don't leave it on the seat or a hot exhaust.
  • Do not paint the shell, apply solvent-based adhesives or stickers, or modify the EPS in any way — including cutting recesses for a Bluetooth unit. Use the existing speaker pockets and route cables so they don't foul the chin bar or liner.
  • Replace a visor that is deeply scratched or hazed rather than polishing it, and retire the helmet after any crash or heavy impact even if there is no visible damage.
