Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap; never use petroleum-based solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners, as these can degrade the shell finish and graphics.
Clean the visor with warm water and a soft cloth — never wipe a dry visor, as even fine dust will scratch the lens surface.
If the helmet has removable cheek pads or an interior liner, hand-wash these in lukewarm water with mild detergent and allow them to air-dry completely before refitting.
Inspect the flip-up chin bar latch before every ride to confirm it clicks firmly into both the open and fully closed positions; do not ride with a chin bar that does not latch securely.
Check the chin strap fastener and D-ring or buckle system regularly for fraying, corrosion, or play; replace if any signs of wear are present.
Retire and replace the helmet immediately after any impact, even if no visible damage is apparent — the EPS liner is a one-use energy absorber and will not perform as designed in a subsequent impact.
Store the helmet in a helmet bag or padded case, away from direct sunlight, fuel, exhaust fumes, and chemical vapours, all of which degrade foam, padding, and shell materials over time.
