The SHAD 3P System mounting kit is the bike-specific fitting that lets you run SHAD side cases on the Kawasaki Eliminator 500. It bolts to the motorcycle's existing mounting points and provides the frame that SHAD 3P System side cases attach to, so the panniers themselves are sold separately.

The 3P System is one of SHAD's better-known designs, built around an integrated shape that sits close to the bike and a low overall weight, so the fitted kit makes little difference to the machine's centre of gravity. That matters on a cruiser like the Eliminator, where handling and lean clearance are easily upset by bulky aftermarket racking.

  • Fit the kit using the SHAD instruction sheet supplied with it — the bracket layout and hardware are specific to the Eliminator 500 and to the mounting points it uses.
  • Tighten all fasteners to the torque values given in the SHAD instructions; do not substitute the supplied bolts, spacers or washers for hardware of a different length or grade.
  • Re-check every fastener after the first ride with luggage fitted, then at regular intervals — vibration can loosen rack hardware over time.
  • Always carry the side cases within the maximum load stated by SHAD for the cases and mounting system, and distribute weight evenly between left and right.
  • Check that the cases latch fully onto both sides of the frame before each ride, and that nothing fouls the rear indicators, exhaust, suspension travel or pillion footpegs.
  • Wash with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry thoroughly; avoid solvents, degreasers and high-pressure washers aimed directly at the joints and fasteners.
  • After riding in rain or on salted or coastal roads, rinse the mounting frame and dry it to limit corrosion; touch up any paint chips promptly.
  • Keep the case attachment points and locking mechanism clean and free of grit; a light lubricant on the locks helps them keep working smoothly.
  • Inspect the brackets for cracks, elongated bolt holes or bent sections if the bike is dropped or the cases take a knock, and replace damaged parts rather than repairing them.
  • If you remove the cases for daily riding, leave the frame in place and store the cases indoors, out of direct sunlight.
