The SHAD 3P System is the model-specific side frame kit that lets you fit SHAD side cases to a BMW R1200GS or R1250GS. It is one of SHAD's key luggage innovations, designed to sit close to the bike rather than hang off it, so the panniers become part of the motorcycle's lines instead of an obvious add-on.
Because the frames are kept light, they add very little to the bike's overall mass and have minimal effect on the centre of gravity — useful on a big adventure machine that already carries its weight high. Assembly is straightforward, with the kit made to bolt to the bike's existing mounting points.
This is the mounting kit only. SHAD 3P side cases are purchased separately.

- Fit the kit using the instructions supplied by SHAD, following the specified bolt positions and tightening sequence for your model.
- Use the motorcycle's existing mounting points only — do not drill, modify or substitute fasteners.
- Re-check all mounting bolts after the first ride with luggage fitted, then at regular intervals, as vibration can loosen fasteners over time.
- Before each ride, confirm both cases are fully seated and locked onto the frames, and that the keys are removed from the locks.
- Distribute load evenly between left and right cases, and stay within the load limits given in the SHAD instructions for the frames and cases.
- Remove the cases when not in use to reduce width and vibration loading on the frames.
- Keep the mounting rails and case latch points clean; wipe away grit and road salt so the cases seat and release properly.
- Wash with mild soapy water and a soft cloth, then dry — avoid solvents, degreasers and high-pressure washers aimed directly at the mounts.
- After riding in wet, coastal or salted conditions, rinse and dry the frames and check fasteners for corrosion, replacing any that are damaged.
- Check the frames for cracks, bends or elongated bolt holes after any drop or impact, and do not carry luggage on damaged mounts.
