A replacement 14-tooth front (countershaft) sprocket for Honda applications, listed under part reference 274. It is sold individually, so it can be fitted on its own during a routine gearing change or paired with a new rear sprocket and chain as part of a full drive kit replacement.
Suited to riders who are servicing a worn drivetrain or adjusting final drive gearing. Compared with a higher tooth count at the front, a 14-tooth sprocket shortens the final drive ratio, which favours acceleration and low-speed tractability over top-end gearing.

- Confirm the part reference, chain pitch and spline count match your Honda model before fitting — a mismatched front sprocket will not seat correctly or will wear the chain rapidly.
- Replace the front sprocket, rear sprocket and chain as a set wherever possible; fitting a new sprocket to a worn chain (or vice versa) accelerates wear on both.
- Tighten the countershaft sprocket retaining bolt or nut to the torque specified in your Honda service manual, and refit the lock washer, tab washer or circlip exactly as originally assembled.
- Check chain alignment and adjust chain slack to the range in your owner's manual after fitting, then recheck once the chain has settled in over the first few rides.
- Inspect regularly for hooked, pointed or chipped teeth, and for uneven wear on one side of the teeth, which usually indicates misalignment.
- Keep the chain clean and lubricated with a chain lubricant suited to your chain type; a dry or gritty chain is the fastest way to wear out a new sprocket.
- Clean the sprocket area and inside the front sprocket cover of built-up chain lube, road grime and swarf when servicing.
- Rinse off salt, sand and mud after wet or coastal riding, dry the drivetrain, then re-lubricate the chain.
- Do not use aggressive solvents, wire wheels or harsh degreasers on or near the chain's O-rings or X-rings.
- Store spare sprockets dry and lightly oiled to prevent surface corrosion before fitting.
