- Confirm the wheel size, hub type, axle diameter, spacers and brake disc/sprocket fitment against your exact model and year before fitting.
- Transfer or fit the correct rim lock, tube, brake disc, sprocket, bearings, spacers and cush drive components as required for your bike.
- Check spoke tension before first use and re-check after the first ride or two, then regularly - new wheels commonly bed in and lose tension early on.
- Tension spokes evenly in a criss-cross pattern and re-check wheel true and runout after any adjustment.
- Torque the axle nut and any brake disc or sprocket fasteners to your motorcycle manufacturer's specified values.
- Inspect the rim for dents, cracks and flat spots after heavy landings or rock strikes, and check the hub and bearings for play or roughness.
- Keep tyre pressures at the levels recommended for your bike and riding conditions, and make sure the rim lock is tight to stop the tyre spinning on the rim.
- Wash with mild soapy water and a soft brush, rinse and dry thoroughly; avoid harsh solvents, acidic wheel cleaners and high-pressure washing directly at the bearings or seals.
- After riding in mud, sand or water crossings, clean the wheel promptly and check the bearings and seals for water ingress.
- Store off the ground or with the tyre supported, out of direct sunlight, and keep spare wheels somewhere dry to avoid corrosion.
