X-Tech Heavy Duty Chain & Lock 2M

The X-Tech Heavy Duty Chain & Lock 2M is a motorcycle security chain designed to deter opportunistic theft when your bike is parked. At two metres in length, the chain provides enough reach to loop through the frame or swingarm and around a fixed anchor point such as a ground anchor, post, or railing.

Periodically apply a dry PTFE or dedicated lock lubricant to the lock mechanism to keep it operating smoothly and prevent internal corrosion.
Lubricate chain links with a light oil or chain lubricant to prevent rust, particularly after wet-weather use.
After exposure to rain or salt air, dry the chain and lock thoroughly before storing.
Store in a dry location; avoid leaving the chain damp in a bag or pannier for extended periods.
Inspect chain links and the lock shackle regularly for signs of corrosion, stretching, or damage — replace immediately if the integrity is compromised.
When securing your motorcycle, route the chain through the frame or swingarm rather than just a wheel, and connect to a ground anchor or solid fixed object.
Keep slack in the chain to a minimum to reduce leverage available to cutting tools.
Do not use penetrating solvents (e.g. WD-40) as a primary lubricant inside the lock cylinder, as these can wash out grease and attract dirt over time.
