- Before each use, unfold both ends fully and confirm the folding sections are locked flat and square before any weight goes on the ramp.
- Seat the rubber-coated fingers squarely over the tailgate or tray edge so the ramp cannot slide sideways, and secure the ramp to the vehicle with a strap or tie-down before loading.
- Never exceed the 318kg rated loading capacity, and keep the total of bike plus rider or handler within that limit.
- Walk the bike up under control rather than riding it up, and have a second person assist where possible.
- Check the ramp surface and your footwear are dry and free of mud, oil or fuel, as aluminium becomes slippery when contaminated.
- Rinse with fresh water and mild detergent after use in mud, salt or coastal conditions, then dry before folding to avoid trapping moisture in the hinges.
- Inspect the hinges, rivets, welds and rubber fingers regularly for cracks, wear, distortion or missing fasteners, and retire the ramp from service if any structural damage is found.
- Fold the ramp for transport and store it flat in a dry place where it cannot be dropped, bent or driven over.
- Do not modify, drill or weld the ramp, and do not use it as a bridge or spanning platform between two raised points.
