Inspect the filter at every routine service interval for accumulated dirt, debris, or damage.
Ensure the inlet collar seats fully and squarely onto the carburettor mouth before tightening the clamp — air leaks will affect fuelling and performance.
Tighten the clamp to a firm, even pressure; do not overtighten, as this may deform the inlet collar.
Clean the filter element using a product appropriate to its material type; allow it to dry completely before refitting.
Do not run the motorcycle with the filter absent or improperly seated.
Inspect the rubber inlet collar periodically for cracking, swelling, or deterioration and replace if compromised.
Store the filter in a clean, dry location away from fuel, oils, and direct sunlight when not in use.
