- Verify wiring polarity before connecting — reverse polarity can damage the motor. Wire through an appropriately rated fuse to protect the electrical circuit.
- Ensure the fan blades have sufficient clearance from surrounding components before operating; inadequate clearance causes vibration and premature wear.
- Mount the fan firmly using suitable brackets or mounting tabs to prevent vibration-induced fatigue on wiring connections over time.
- Connect the fan to a switched circuit (ignition-on) rather than a permanent live feed unless a dedicated thermostat or relay is installed.
- If using a thermostat switch, confirm the switch rating is compatible with the fan's current draw to avoid switch failure.
- Periodically inspect electrical connectors and terminals for corrosion, particularly in wet or dusty riding environments; clean with electrical contact cleaner as needed.
- Clean the blade assembly and housing with a soft brush or compressed air to remove accumulated debris that can reduce airflow efficiency.
- Do not allow water to pool inside the fan housing; ensure drainage is possible in the installation position to avoid corrosion of the motor bearings.
