Description

A complete wet clutch rebuild in one box for the Suzuki DR-Z250 (2001-2007). The WMP (Whites) kit supplies the full pack of cork-based friction plates, steel drive plates and a matched set of clutch springs, so you can refresh a slipping, dragging or heat-tired clutch in a single job rather than piecing parts together.

Components are made to OEM specifications and sized to work with your standard clutch basket and inner hub, giving tight tolerances and predictable take-up at the lever. It suits trail and enduro riders restoring a high-hour DR-Z250, as well as workshops after a straightforward, like-for-like replacement.

Operations & maintenance

Before fitting, lay the new plates out against the old pack and check the count, thickness and tooth profile match.
Soak the friction plates in clean engine oil of the grade specified in your DR-Z250 service manual before installation so they are never run dry on first start-up.
Inspect the clutch basket fingers and inner hub for notching or grooving while the clutch is apart — new plates will drag or judder if they cannot slide freely.
Fit the clutch springs as a complete set, and tighten the pressure plate bolts evenly in a criss-cross sequence to the torque figures in the factory manual.
Renew the clutch cover gasket, then refill with fresh engine oil to the correct level before starting the engine.
Bed the clutch in gently for the first rides: avoid hard launches and prolonged slipping, and let the engine go through a few heat cycles.
Set the clutch cable free play to the manual's specification after assembly, and recheck it after the first ride once the plates have bedded in.
Keep friction surfaces free of grease, brake cleaner and solvents during handling, and store any unused plates flat in their packaging in a cool, dry place.
Stick to the oil type and change intervals in your service manual — wet clutch life depends heavily on oil condition and suitability.
