Description

The Wanda P819 is a highway-pattern tyre for 8-inch rims, sold in the dual-designation 4.80/4.00-8 size that suits fitments calling for either 4.80-8 or 4.00-8. Its ribbed, close-spaced tread is built for sealed and hard-packed surfaces rather than mud or loose terrain.

It suits utility ATVs and quads used on farm tracks, yards and bitumen, and is also a common replacement size for small trailers, mowers and light utility equipment running 8-inch wheels. The tubeless carcass carries a 6-ply rating, so it is aimed at load-carrying duty where puncture resistance and stable, predictable steering matter more than off-road bite.

Sold as a single tyre. Rim, tube and valve are not included.

Key Features

  • Ribbed highway tread pattern designed for sealed and hard-packed surfaces
  • 6-ply rating (6PR) carcass for load-carrying and puncture resistance
  • Tubeless (TL) construction — no tube required when fitted to a sealed rim
  • Dual-designation 4.80/4.00-8 size fits 8-inch rims specified as either 4.80-8 or 4.00-8
  • Load index 70 and speed symbol M — rated to 335 kg per tyre at up to 130 km/h
  • Bias-ply (crossply) construction
  • Suits utility ATVs, quads, small trailers and light utility equipment on 8-inch wheels

Operations & maintenance

Have the tyre fitted and the wheel balanced by a qualified tyre technician using correct beading equipment — small-diameter bias tyres can be damaged by levering onto a rim without proper tools.
As a tubeless tyre, it must be fitted to a rim rated and sealed for tubeless use; if the rim is not airtight, fit a suitable inner tube and expect a small reduction in load capacity.
Fit a new valve (or check the existing rubber valve for perishing) whenever a new tyre is mounted — valve failure is a common cause of sudden deflation on 8-inch wheels.
Check inflation pressure cold, before riding, and set it to the vehicle or equipment manufacturer's recommendation rather than the maximum figure moulded on the sidewall. Re-check at least monthly and before carrying heavy loads.
Do not exceed the marked load index and speed symbol (70M), and never overload a single tyre to compensate for a soft or flat one on the same axle.
Treat the first few hundred kilometres gently — new tread carries mould release agent and offers reduced grip until it has scuffed in.
Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded stones, sidewall bulges, cracking or exposed cords, and replace the tyre if any are found; repairs to the sidewall or shoulder are not safe on a tyre of this type.
Wash with mild soapy water and a soft brush, then rinse. Avoid solvents, petrol and silicone tyre dressings, which can degrade the rubber compound.
Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors and welders, oils, and chemicals.
Replace once the tread reaches the wear indicators, and consider age as well as wear — rubber hardens over time even on a tyre with tread remaining.
